I feel honoured this year, because I get to write a report on:
Origins Tasmania's "Tribute to Birthmothers' Day".

    Mothers are very special people.

    I felt that this day,
was a tribute to all mothers who relinquished their babies world wide.

Some mothers have grown with their child,
Others were forced to relinquish their babies at birth.
    Regardless of the circumstances,
We are still mothers and we are very special people indeed.

No one else has suffered the way that we have, throughout the years…
No one else understands what we have been through,
No one else understands what it is like to lose a child to adoption,
We are the only ones - the mothers who lost their babies - who understands.

To all who were present at Origins Tasmania's Tribute,
and to those that we talk to world wide,
Please remember that this day is very special to us….

    And remember,
    WE ARE, VERY SPECIAL PEOPLE

To every one that was able to share this day with us… thank you.

Birthmothers' Day is normally held on the Saturday before Mother's Day. This year we decided to be a bit different and we celebrated it on Sunday the 2nd of May, which was a week before Mother's Day.

For the last "Tribute to Birthmothers' Day" to be held in the 20th Century, we are so glad that this day was a great success.

Origins Tasmania celebrated this very special day with a BBQ held at Mary's place. The weather was perfect, unlike previous years. The day was perfect. There was lots of food, and Charmaine enticed us with her bottle of bubbly. It was great to see many fmily members attending this year, in fact we had a record number of people helping us celebrate this wonderful day. Thankyou.
